Dark, moist, chocolatey, and easy. This one comes from Hershey's. It's especially fabulous with Chocolate Marshmallow Frosting -- that was Sammy's cake for her 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th birthdays.

Black Magic Cake

1¾ C all-purpose flour, sifted
2 C sugar
¾ C cocoa
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 C hot black coffee
1 C buttermilk or sour milk*
½ C vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla extract

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add eggs, coffee, milk, oil, and vanilla extract. Batter will be very thin. Bake in a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes.

* To sour milk, use 1 tablespoon vinegar plus milk to equal 1 cup. Let sit for 5 minutes.
