At last the truth can be told. This recipe comes off a box of 10X sugar. Makes a fabulous gift -- pour finished fudge directly into wax paper-lined tin or greased giftable plasticware
1 lb Confectioner's (10X) sugar
6 T butter or margarine
½ C unsweetened cocoa
¼ C milk
1 T vanilla extract
¼ tsp salt
1 C chopped pecans (optional)
In medium saucepan, heat sugar, butter, cocoa, milk, vanilla and salt over low heat, stirring until smooth. Stir in nuts, if you're weird and like nuts in your fudge. Spread mixture quickly in buttered 9x5-inch loaf pan. Cool; cut into squares.
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS: In large microwave-safe bowl, place butter and milk. Microwave at HIGH 1 1/2 to 2 minutes until butter is melted. Stir in sugar, cocoa, vanilla and salt until smooth; then stir in nuts. Spread mixture quickly in buttered 9x5-inch loaf pan. Cool; cut into squares.
