Rivels are a kind of dumpling. We drop them into soups like chicken corn or split pea. You can just drop them into broth and eat the result as a simple soup. I found this recipe at food.com and it's ridiculously easy.

Rivels

2 C flour
¼ tsp salt
2 eggs, beaten

Bring your pot of soup, or broth, to a boil while you're making your rivels.

Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Add the beaten eggs and stir with a fork to make a bunch of crumbles. Drop these crumbles by small handfuls into the boiling liquid. Boil for 15 minutes.
